Alan C. Tribble is a rocket scientist who has spent over ten years designing dozens of spacecraft for various missions. Formerly with Rockwell International's Space Systems Division, he is now a technical project manager in the International Software Defined Radios group for Rockwell Collins in addition to being a speaker and author on space-related subjects. His books include The Space Environment and the Princeton Guide to Advanced Physics.
Dr. Tribble is the 2008 recipient of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics James A. Van Allen award and had the honor of presenting Professor Van Allen with a plaque on behalf of the AIAA when the award was established in 2006.
